She is the daughter of Harvey Welker a Native American father and Julie Welker an African-American mother. The father of the family is an engineer while her mother is a realtor. Walker completed her education in The Germantown Friends School (Germantown area) in Philadelphia and graduated in 1994. After that, in 1998, she graduated at Harvard College with a Bachelor's degree. Welker is in a relationship with John Hughes a well-known marketing director at Merck in Philadelphia and has two kids. They began an affair during 2014, when they were together. John is her husband. He's is four years older than her. They were enjoying their relationship, so they decided to stay in touch. They got married on March 4, 2017. The wedding was held in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Their wedding was held at the Hyatt. The wedding was limited to friends and family of close relatives.
