Lee Roy Selmon's life includes football scholarships, family involvement and involvement in the community. The first time, he was brought up with Lucious and Jessie Selmon on a farm near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. In second football, he was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was an All-Star for the whole 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. During his three-year tenure as Oklahoma's starting quarterback, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and won two national championships. In 1975, he was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was recognized as a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon earned his diploma in education. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. After graduation Lee Roy relocating to Tampa which is where he played for nine years playing for Tampa's Buccaneers. 3 times he was named an All-Pro. He began his business career. He began his career in 1988. was working as an Account Relation Officer for First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the most prominent young men in the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6-2. In his time at college, he commanded the team of 1975. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993, as associate director of sports. The College Football Hall of Fame named his on the 28th of October, the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. His parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
