Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek is a Mexican-American actress, born to Spanish-Lebanese parents. The family was an Latin American Roman Catholic wealthy family. She was influenced at a young age to become an actress through the classic film "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory'. Her confidence was high to venture into the world of films after attending Mexico City's "Universidad Iberoamericana.' The first role she had as an actor was the Mexican telenovela, 'Teresa.' In Hollywood she was cast as Antonio Banderas's co-star for 'Desperado. It was followed by roles in 'Fools 'Rush In' and 'Wild Wild West' among others. She was the character 'Desperado' the character from Once Upon a Time in Mexico was repeated. Her next step was to establish her own production company called "Ventanarosa,". The film that she first produced was the Mexican film, 'El Coronel Tiene Quien Le Escriba,' which made Mexico the official entry in the Oscars 'Best Foreign Film' category. She also served as the director of the 'Ugly Betty.' The 59th Primetime Emmy Awards nominated her for "Outstanding actress in a Comedy Series" in the character of Sofia Reyes.
