
Kelly Clarkson, the American Dream came to life as she was voted into the first American Idol season. Clarkson conceived the notion that you could originate from any place and then suddenly be an international star. She also created something tangible that American audiences could hang on to, and even more important to buy. Her success was enormous with her first album. In the wake of moving to a new record company and having more control over her voice her voice, her subsequent album was her highest-selling American Idol album. There have been numerous awards she has received, including numerous Top Ten hits, two multi-Platinum album releases, as well as an appearance as mentor on several singing programs. She has received the following awards: four American Music Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, two Grammy Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards. In the past, she's earned 98 major awards for music nominations and received seventy of them.
